2016 A to Z Theme Reveal

atoz-theme-reveal-2016 v2

Once again, it is time for Theme Reveal Day for the 2016 A to Z Challenge! I wavered back and forth many times in the past few weeks, trying to decide my theme for 2016. Drum roll . . .

Ernest Miller Hemingway (EMH)

eh08368p

–1947, in Idaho (Ernest Hemingway Collection. John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, Boston, 1947)

Are you shocked? Surprised? I doubt it. Having been a reader of all things EMH for the past 8 years, why not make my theme about him, too? Why this year? In July, Oak Park, Illinois will be the setting for the biannual Hemingway Conference and I will be attending. The theme of the conference is “At Home in Hemingway’s World.” EMH was born in Oak Park. Just do a search of my blog and you will see many posts and references related to EMH. Will I have enough to post about for 26 days? Seriously, there are thousands of books on Hemingway and his family. Not a problem. Also, since EMH traveled the world and lived in many places, I could probably just write about those. But I am just going to keep it general and blog about aspects of EMH that strike my fancy.

Starting April 1, 2016, follow me in my challenge to blog daily about EMH!

I will enjoy your AZs tremendously. I saw his house in Cuba on TV over the weekend (President Obama’s visit as the occasion behind all things Cuba). It’s a museum now, of course, but his grandchildren are always welcomed. Look forward to reading about Papa Hemingway.

Yes, I saw the same show, Silvia! Bill Weir of CNN was at the Finca with two of the grandsons. Cannot wait to start posting!
